This story has been repeated time and time again. The organization is just plain abusive and evil, and I sympathize with what you've been put through. We love you! It gets better!

Disfellowshipped
by lriddle80 inmy judicial committee was set for monday.
the message says to call back asap and that he loves me, but he said it like "i love ya, girl" he never has said that to me like that.
so, i call back and he says i have been a hard person to get a hold of and that confused me because i had not received any calls from him.

The problem with movies this last decade or so
by LoveUniHateExams inactually, i think i've discovered two issues.. the first is that there are too many soft reboots, remakes and re-imaginings.
don't get me wrong, hollywood has always done remakes and some remakes work very well.
the fly (1986) and the thing (1982) are actually remakes/re-imaginings of the original 50s films.

Totally agree about The Force Awakens. I think another misconception is that running time makes a movie respectable. So if they aim for 2 hours +, even if it uses filler to get there, it's somehow more legit. I'm fine with long movies if it works and it's called for, but I know plenty of shorter films that are much tighter and tell the story better. -

JW`s Claim Their religion is Based Solely on The Bible.
by smiddy3 inwell here are a few words that the watchtower / jw`s religion frequently use that do not appear in the bible , either , old testament or the new testament.. organization , sovereignty , reinstatement , governing body .. and in the christian greek scriptures ,the kingdom interlinear that the jw`s published themselves , a word for word translation of the greek to english does not contain the name / word jehovah ......nowhere ..

I'll add dedication. It appears nowhere in reference to baptism.

Okay sorry, just a few more things that grabbed me in this issue:
The magazine starts with an article dedicated to the 100th anniversary of that all important year on which the GB's authority hangs, 1919. The article ends with several rapid fire assertions:
By the end of 1919, Jehovah’s people
were reorganized and energized. Addition-
ally, several important prophecies involving
the last days had been fulfilled. The testing
and refinement of God’s people, foretold at
Malachi 3:1-4, was complete. Jehovah’s
people had been released from their sym-
bolic captivity to “Babylon the Great,” and
Jesus had appointed “the faithful and dis-
creet slave.”
Yet naturally there is no proof offered, it's just now assumed to be a given. These things happened because they happened.
Then there's this sad opinion of a JW:
A sister
named Marilyn said: “JW Broadcasting
has helped me to be more positive, and I
don’t have to filter the content.
Ever since waking up, all I ever do when partaking of JW content is to 'filter' it and read between the lines. It's this uncritical acceptance that leads to so much harm.
Moving on . . . As we know, besides have their own vocabulary, JWs seem to make their own convenient definitions of certain words. (Like "generation".) This time, the word of the day is Christendom:
EXPRESSION EXPLAINED: Christendom is made up of
religions that claim to be Christian but that do not teach
people to worship Jehovah according to his standards.
Every authority will tell you that it's basically all Christian religions, but JWs like to say it's everybody but them.
Last but not least, here's some straightforward council on not supporting Christendom in any way:
a
Christian who is employed by some other
business would not want to do exten-
sive work at a facility that promotes false
worship. And if he owns a business, he
would certainly not bid on a job or do
contract work for any part of Babylon
the Great. Why do we take such a firm
stand? Because we do not want to share
in the works and sins of religious organi-
-
We also need to avoid such organizations as youth
camps or recreational facilities that have ties to false re-
ligion. For example, regarding membership in the
YMCA (Young Men’s Christian Association), see “Ques-
tions From Readers” in the January 1, 1979, issue of
The Watchtower. The same stand must be taken toward
the YWCA (Young Women’s Christian Association). Even
though some local affiliates try to downplay the religious
aspects of their activities, these are, in fact, organiza-
tions with religious roots and objectives.
But all the many, MANY Kingdom Halls that have been sold to churches . . . That's okay though right?

I say neither is feasible short term, but yeah, if ones gonna go it would be the JWs first. They would just spin that as persecution though lol.

The October 2019 study edition, speaking of the Last Days after the governments destroy all religion EXCEPT JWs:
At some point, the people whose re-
ligions were destroyed may resent the
fact that Jehovah’s Witnesses keep prac-
ticing their religion. We can only imag-
ine the uproar that this might create, in-
cluding on social media. The nations and
their ruler, Satan, will hate us for having
the only surviving religion. They will not
have attained their goal to eliminate all
religion from the face of the earth. So we
will become the center of their attention. This is so laughably stupid I don't know where to begin. JWs have such a strong need to be the center of the universe, of all prophecy etc. that they have to write fiction like this about literally being the "center of . . . attention".
Then there's this curious tidbit about, not obedience to the GB, to their helpers:
At
some point, all anointed ones who are
still on earth will be gathered to heav-
en to share in the war of Armageddon.
(Matt. 24:31; Rev. 2:26, 27) This means
that the Governing Body will no longer
be with us on earth. However, the great
crowd will remain organized. Capable
brothers from among the other sheep
will take the lead. We will need to show
our loyalty by supporting these brothers
and by following their God-given direc-
tion. Our survival will depend on it!The cherry on top is a profoundly idiotic picture of the cry of peace and security. And it's basically a TV with the words Peace and Security on it. How simple is that! All the worldlings in the coffee shop are fooled, but not the JWs on break in the middle:

New Proof for 1914 - Oct. 2019 WT
by neat blue dog inthe latest study edition offers a new proof for 1914, get this:.
were you born after the year 1914?
if so, you have lived your entire life during “the last days” of the present system of things.. because so much time has passed since 1914, we must now be living in the last of “the last days.”.

The long dragged out failure of their prophecy to materialize is offered as proof of it being true. Go figure.

At least this is better than JWs. Still members of the church, but not in good standing, something JWs already do unofficially, and no forced shunning.
